The NSW Nationals acknowledge Indigenous Australians as the traditional custodians of our land and work to give them an effective voice in Parliament.
All work and policy we develop about Indigenous people and communities involves and respects those affected and is based on justice and self-determination.
Delivering services
The NSW Nationals support investment in programs to support Indigenous Australians and efforts aimed at Closing The Gap. We support an increase in culturally appropriate housing choices and support services for Indigenous families, improving education and employment outcomes, increasing aspiration and independence, supporting functional households and communities, and enabling wealth creation.
We take seriously the role we play in representing Indigenous people in our communities and seek to break the intergenerational cycle of welfare dependency, support families seeking education and employment, reduce pressure on social housing and improve living standards and community amenity.
