NSW Nationals Member for Page Kevin Hogan has welcomed the latest Australian job figures, with unemployment dropping to 5.8 per cent.
“The unemployment rate plunged from 6.3 per cent to 5.8 per cent in February, as the economy added 88,700 jobs in the month,” Mr Hogan said.
“Employment increased to 13,006,900 and is now only 1800 under its pre-COVID peak of 13,008,700 a year earlier.
“This is wonderful news. I thank all businesses who have kept trading, employed staff, and remained optimistic. This also shows that the NSW Nationals in the federal government’s stimulus programs have worked.
“We have more to do but there is no country in the world you would rather be on both a health and economic front right now.”
