Nationals Member for Coffs Harbour, Gurmesh Singh, has welcomed the announcement by Touch Football Australia that the 2024 National Youth Championships will be held in Coffs Harbour in September.
Mr Singh said the news again demonstrates the ability of the Coffs Coast, with the support of the local community, to attract and showcase major sporting events.
“Coffs Harbour looks forward to welcoming the more than 7000 attendees for the National Youth Championships, with more than $5 million expected to flow into the NSW and local economy,” Mr Singh said.
“C.ex Coffs International Stadium is a premier sporting fixture in regional NSW and it will be on the national stage when it hosts the National Youth Championships on 25 to 28 September.
“This tournament joins the Inferno National Touch League championships, held in Coffs Harbour from March 8-10, cementing our city as the home of touch football in Australia.
“I thank the NSW Government for its continuing support of major events on the Coffs Coast and I look forward to seeing the players, their families, and supporters when they converge on Coffs Harbour later this year.”
