NSW Nationals Member for Tweed, Geoff Provest, has welcomed the start of construction of a $32 million upgrade for TAFE NSW Kingscliff.
Mr Provest took part in the turning of the first sod on the site of a new $25 million multi-purpose building that will enable the delivery of courses including animal studies, aviation, creative services, and electrotechnology.
An additional $8.8 million will be spent on refurbishing several of the buildings on campus, including health and community services.
This will allow health students to complete hands-on training in a simulated hospital environment.
This work is scheduled for completion by the middle of the year.
Mr Provest said this investment is great for the local area.
“It will help increase enrolments, improve educational outcomes and enhance education and employment pathways for students,” he said.
“I was delighted to be a part of the original announcement back in 2022 that committed over $32 million dollars to see significant upgrades and expansions to the campus.”
