A Bathurst-based small businessman and longtime NSW Nationals Member, Sam Farraway has been selected by a joint sitting of the NSW Parliament to fill a casual vacancy in the Legislative Council.
Mr Farraway replaced former MLC and Nationals Deputy Leader, the Hon. Niall Blair, who retired from the Legislative Council on Wednesday.
The 33-year-old has a long history of working with the community; in business and through volunteering. In addition to his role as Senior Vice Chairman of the NSW Nationals, he has spent over 10 years as President of the Bathurst Agricultural, Horticultural & Pastoral Association which runs the Royal Bathurst Show as well as was young entrepreneur of the year.
Sam is a great community advocate and has shown a commitment to working for the people in his region. With the skills and determination to make a real difference to rural and regional New South Wales, he is committed to continuing the good work of the NSW Nationals in Government.
