Whether it’s a local show, market day, or swap meet, chances are you’ve lined up for a steak sanga and a bucket of chips from a PCYC food van.
Thanks to funding from the previous National Government’s Community Building Partnerships program, the Dubbo PCYC has a brand-new food van ready to hit the road.
As a charity that supports young people in our community, the PCYC and its dedicated volunteers will now be able to raise more money for the important programs it runs and boost the emergency response capabilities for communities in need.
In February 2023, Nationals Member for the Dubbo electorate Dugald Saunders announced the Dubbo PCYC had secured $63,689 for a new King Kong catering trailer.
“From Project Waalway to its Fit for Life and Fit for Work programs, PCYC’s initiatives are so valuable for children and young people in our region – especially those who are vulnerable,” Mr Saunders said.
“As a charitable organisation, the PCYC relies heavily on donations to fund these initiatives.
“This food trailer will enable it to cater at more community events, in turn raising more money for its important programs.”
PCYC Manager Sonya Rath said the new van is a great boost to the organisation.
“Having access to a far more modern van will really make life easier and we are looking forward to being at more events and doing what we have always done, cooking great food and supporting our community.”
