Federal Member for Page Kevin Hogan has acknowledged Northern Rivers School Leaders for the important role they play in school life.
Close to 300 students and parents have attended Mr Hogan annual School Leaders’ event at Lismore High School.
“It is always an inspiring event to witness the passion and dedication of our young leaders,” Mr Hogan said.
“These students play an important role in the life of their school community and it’s important to recognise them and thank them.”
Mr Hogan has thanked guest speaker Lyn Larsen AM for her inspirational speech.
“Lyn is a former NSW and Australian cricketer. She debuted for Australia on the tour of India in 1984, and 2 years later at 22, found herself named as Australian captain, the youngest ever at that time. Lyn went on to play 49 ODIS for Australia, including captaining Australia to victory at the 1988 World Cup at the MCG, and 15 tests, 10 as captain,” Mr Hogan said.
“Lyn’s contribution to the game of cricket has been recognised by being named a Member of the Order of Australia; induction into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame in 1999; the NSW Hall of Champions in 2000; the Cricket NSW Hall of Fame in 2010, and the Australian Cricket Hall of Fame in January 2024.”
