Ophir Road will be upgraded thanks to $700,000 in funding from the NSW Nationals in the state government’s Safer Roads Program.
Nationals Minister for Regional Transport and Roads Sam Farraway said the upgrades will deliver a safer and improved journey for the hundreds of locals who use the road every day travelling into Orange for school or work, or who travel out to Ophir Reserve.
“Over the next six weeks, about 900 metres of Ophir Road will be resurfaced and upgraded,” Mt Farraway said.
“The work will include widening the road, improving the camber, and installing roadside safety barriers.”
The NSW Nationals in the state government’s Safer Roads Program is designed to save lives by funding projects that target higher risk parts of the roads network.
