Deputy Premier and Minister for Regional NSW Paul Toole has announced $1.5 million in funding to reinvigorate and improve Lithgow’s Main Street.
The funding will come from Round 8 of the NSW Nationals in the state government’s Resources For Regions program.
Mr Toole said the funding will be provided to Lithgow City Council with the aim of bringing life to Main Street as the region gets back to business.
“Lithgow is growing but I want to see this investment improving the streetscape by making it safer for locals and improving the aesthetics for visitors,” Mr Toole said.
“This has a great opportunity to support small businesses by having outdoor dining and showcase the town as a destination.”
The new look streetscape will include safety balustrades, street furniture and planter boxes brimming with colour and softening the landscape.
