NSW Nationals Member for Oxley and Minister for Water, Property and Housing, Melinda Pavey, has announced that 19 local projects in Oxley have been funded through the NSW Government’s 2021 Community Building Partnership Program.
Since the Program started in 2009, the Community Building Partnership has funded more than the 16,000 projects, and this year there is $400,000 to allocate in each electorate.
Ms Pavey said the funding of the 19 projects in Oxley is fantastic news for the region.
“I congratulate all the organisations that were successful in their application and look forward to seeing how these projects make a real difference for community groups in the area.
“This grassroots funding will directly help create a more vibrant and inclusive local community with positive social, environmental and recreational outcomes.”
The successful projects in Oxley are:
• Kempsey Crescent Head Surf Life Saving Club: purchase of a new Inflatable Rescue Boat – $16,445
• The Rotary Club of Dorrigo: Coronation Park installation of a large shade sail over the existing play equipment, clean up and beautification – $40,000
• South West Rocks Country Club: fit-out the new fitness community gym facility located at the new Mid North Coast High Performance Sports Centre – $46,500
• The Wauchope Country Club: installation of additional and new bowling green shades – $15,500
• Nambucca Senior Citizens Club: security screen doors, hand-railing along two disability access ramps, a shelter at front of centre for mobility scooters and aids, LED lighting, car park surfacing – $39,858
• Nambucca Heads Tennis Club: four new LED lights and new crossarms utilising same poles and electricity supply – $16,000
• Unkya Reserve Committee of Management, CARE Nambucca Valley Council: safety upgrades including 100m of new boundary fencing plus two damaged roller shutter doors in the kitchen – $5,000
• Deer Vale Community Progress Association: construction of a concrete slab to accommodate basketball, handball, volleyball, rollerblade and skate practice and bike riding. Installation of basketball hoops/baseboards – $10,000
• Kempsey Tennis Club: replace fencing – $29,447
• Valla Beach Community Association: building a stage/rotunda and electricity upgrades – $68,700
• Country Women’s Association NSW (Macksville): refurbish, renovate and relocate kitchen area – $25,000
• Mary Boulton Pioneer Cottage and Museum, CARE Nambucca Valley Council: a research room to house historically significant documents including newspapers and photographic images. Ceiling installation in existing museum annex and roof insulation in equipment shed – $11,110
• Macleay Pensioners League: installation of solar system and air conditioning Macleay Pensioners Hall – $9,900
• South West Rocks Surf Life Saving: 4X4 utility vehicle will be purchased for support operations, emergency service callouts, patrol operations and carnival assistance – $22,576
• NSW RFSA on behalf of Repton Rural Fire Brigade: install lockers for volunteers PPE and uniforms at our fire shed – $6,312
• NSW RFSA on behalf of North Bellingen Rural Fire Brigade: purchase 20 lockers to store personal protective equipment (clothing and helmets) for active members – $9,852
• Sporting Shooters Association of Australia (Macksville Range): purchase of shipping container to provide secure storage for valuable club equipment – $5,300
• Kempsey Flying Club: club hangar will have the corrugated roof, safety wire, wall cladding, gutters, ridge capping and wool blanket insulation replaced – $17,500
• NSW RFSA on behalf of Brierfield Rural Fire Brigade: electronic notice board, replace above ground water supply tanks at station and A/C system for brigade shed – $5,000
Applications for the 2022 round of funding will open early next year, with another $400,000 allocated for each electorate.
