Dugald Saunders MP

Leader of the NSW Nationals

Shadow Minister for Regional NSW

Shadow Minister for Agriculture and Natural Resources

Member for Dubbo

Dugald Saunders

Dugald worked in the media for 27 years and after spending time in the city, decided with his wife that they would raise their daughters in country NSW.

He spent more than a decade on breakfast radio listening to the people of Dubbo and the Western Plains, through the good times and the bad.

Dugald was chosen as the NSW Nationals Candidate for Dubbo by local, grassroots members of the Party to take over the reins from Troy Grant after he announced his retirement, and was elected the Member for Dubbo at the March 2019 election.

A proud son of the region, Dugald has demonstrated a strong commitment to the community and has a strong record in delivering for its people.

Dugald is focused on making sure our communities get the services we deserve so future generations can thrive in the bush.

This includes providing opportunities for businesses to grow, unlocking our region’s potential and building on our success as a regional tourism destination.

Dugald was elected Nationals’ Leader in May 2023.
