Tweed small businesses are among 2500 across the State that have already been approved for the new $10,000 NSW Government Coronavirus grant but local Nationals MP Geoff Provest says more should apply.
“I don’t want any Tweed businesses to miss out. The money can be paid in as little as five days, but you have to get your application in.” Mr Provest said.
Clarence Nationals MP Chris Gulaptis agreed.
“The NSW Nationals in Government introduced the $10,000 grant for small business employers only last week and already 2500 have been approved,” Mr Gulaptis said.
Eligible businesses must meet criteria including having between 1-19 employees, a turnover of more than $75,000, a payroll below the threshold of $900,000, and be heavily impacted by the COVID-19 shutdowns.
Businesses will be expected to demonstrate a 75 per cent decline in turnover as a result of COVID-19, relative to an equivalent period in 2019 of at least two weeks.
Applications for the grant must be received by June 1, 2020. For more information on eligibility or to submit an application please visit www.service.nsw.gov.au.
