NSW Nationals Member for Dubbo Dugald Saunders has welcomed a $120 million stimulus program from the NSW Nationals in the state government to help regional school capital improvement projects.
Mr Saunders said the program will co-fund renovated and new facilities in regional electorates such as Dubbo, delivering covered outdoor learning areas, toilet blocks, administration buildings and canteens.
The variety of smaller projects will support local business and jobs in the regions as we continue to recover from the pandemic.
Mr Saunders said students in the regions deserved access to the best quality education facilities.
“I know schools in our community have been working hard to raise funds for some of the additional projects that will be eligible as part of this program,” Mr Saunders said.
“The Regional Renewal Program will accelerate school infrastructure and it will also boost our local economy by creating local jobs.
“Wherever possible, local contractors and suppliers will be engaged to ensure that the impact of this stimulus is felt in our electorate.”
Eligible schools will be contacted by the Department of Education to learn more about the program.
