OUR PLAN 2023

PUTTING REGIONAL PEOPLE FIRST

ROADS

We’re delivering the roads and rail connections our regions deserve.

We will invest a further $1 billion to upgrade the roads our communities use every day, fast-track freight and rebuild transport infrastructure after disaster.

That’s $400 million to help regional councils fix local roads, $300 million to tackle freight pinch points on the road and rail network, and $300 million to invest in stronger, more resilient roads and transport infrastructure.

STRONGER COUNTRY COMMUNITIES

We’re continuing to build regional communities we can all be proud of.

We will invest an extra $90 million in grassroots community projects through the Stronger Country Communities fund delivering even more projects that make regional communities the best place to live, work and raise a family.

REGIONAL APPRENTICE AND UNIVERSITY STUDENT TRAVEL CARD

The Regional Apprentice and University Student Travel Card is a budget-boosting initiative to help ease the cost of living pressures in the bush where there can be long distances to get to and from work or training.

Supporting them to live and and work in the regions while they undertake their apprentices and traineeships will also help ensure regional NSW has the skilled workers it needs.

KEEPING PEOPLE SAFE IN THE WATER

We’re backing our lifesavers with the equipment they need to save lives.

We’re investing $23 million to deliver the equipment they need to save lives, position emergency management staff in the regions, boost radio communications on the North and South Coasts and better monitor unpatrolled areas.

SAFER CARS FOR COUNTRY KIDS

We’re helping put young drivers in the regions into a newer, safer set of wheels.

Every parent wants to know their kids in the safest possible car on the road – especially in the regions where they’re driving longer distances and dealing with dust and roos.

Contribute so we can keep putting regional people first
