Regional motorists are saving up to $500 a year on the cost of fuel by using the NSW Nationals in Government’s free FuelCheck app.
NSW Nationals Member for Dubbo Dugald Saunders said the app provided motorists with real-time information on petrol prices for all fuel types and service stations across NSW.
“We know that every dollar counts at the moment – which is why every driver should have the FuelCheck app downloaded to their smart phone,” Mr Saunders said.
“The app stops the guessing game by giving motorists real-time prices of fuel in our local area so they can make sure you’re getting the best deal.
“In recent times I have told people that if they aren’t happy with the price of petrol they should contact the ACCC. The other way to put pressure on petrol companies to do the right thing and not price gauge is to shop for the best price and buy your fuel where the deal is best for you.
“By taking a few seconds to check the app when you hop in the car on your way to fill up you stand to save money.”
The app is one of a raft of measures helping to ease cost of living pressures for households. Others include Energy Switch, cheaper Green Slips and $100 Creative Kids and Active Kids vouchers.
