About Kimberly
Hi, I’m Kimberly Hone.
As a mother of three young daughters, a small business owner, and a committed volunteer, I understand the challenges and opportunities that shape daily life in Tweed, Byron, and Ballina.
My life has been about service – whether volunteering with the SES, supporting remote communities, or helping children with special needs through my work with the Department of Child Safety and the NDIS. Every role I’ve taken and every cause I’ve supported has been driven by my commitment to serving the community.
Times are tough and I’ve heard your concerns loud and clear. Cost of living pressures are hitting our community hard. My plan is to champion tourism and small business, to advocate for policies that lower the cost of living and make housing more affordable.
We need to bring common sense back to politics. You deserve a representative who doesn’t take you for granted and will stand up for what our region needs. I’m here to serve you. Together let’s get Richmond back on track.
My priorities for Richmond
As the Member for Richmond, Kimberly will be the electorate’s voice in Canberra and fight for our fair share.
ENERGY COSTS
Energy costs are the economic driver of small business and households. I am committed to reducing the cost of energy and be open to alternate forms of energy sources.
HOUSING
Work with all levels of government to increase greater housing supply to make local and State Governments more accountable in delivering housing outcomes.
SUPPORT FOR SMALL BUSINESS
Free small business from unnecessary red and green tape. Increase the instant asset write off from $20,000 to $30,000 and increase employment opportunities for the families of Northern Rivers.
AGED CARE
Ensure our welfare, aged care and disability systems are fit-for-purpose and provide a safety net for those Australians most in need
EDUCATION
Quality education for children and teens making reading, writing, maths and science a priority again.
SUSTAINABILITY
Play an active role in funding and fostering the protection, restoration and sustainability of our Northern Rivers land and waterways.
Mt WOLLUMBIN and Mt WARNING
Open Mt Wollumbin/Warning by hiring local indigenous rangers to maintain the track and build a significant indigenous cultural centre.
