Sick children in regional and rural NSW will be able to continue to access free professional flight and ground transport services thanks to a $200,000 boost from the NSW Nationals in Government.
NSW Nationals Minister for Regional Youth Bronnie Taylor announced the support this week, which will enable non-profit organisation Little Wings to continue their services across the state in spite of the substantial toll the COVID-19 pandemic has taken on fundraising activities.
“Severe illness is incredibly hard on any family, and for those who live in the regions, there is the added challenge of getting to the place with the best care”, Mrs Taylor said.
“Making sure that our young people have equal and safe access to the urgent medical support they need is absolutely key, regardless of where they live.
“This funding means that no young patient will miss out because of where they live – and that they can get back home safely after each treatment as quickly as possible.”
