Local sporting clubs in the Tamworth region are looking forward to welcoming new members after receiving funding for new equipment, programs and facilities to get more people involved in sport.
The NSW Nationals in the state government’s Local Sport Grant Program has awarded grants to nine local sporting organisations.
$50,000 has been shared between the clubs for the following projects:

Nationals Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson said the grants would give the clubs the support they need to boost participation in sports.
“Sports are a way of life for so many people in the Tamworth Electorate,” Mr Anderson said.
“Our sporting superstars always punch above their weight at regional, state, national and international events and this funding will help get more people competing, staying active and having fun.”
Grants up to $20,000 were available under the Program with up to $50,000 available in each electorate.
