NSW Nationals Member for Page Kevin Hogan is encouraging people to apply for financial support available for individuals and businesses that are impacted by the current ‘stay at home’ rules.
“Anyone who has lost work due to a hotspot being declared can access the Federal Government’s COVID-19 Disaster Payments,” Mr Hogan said.
“That’s $750 a week for those who have lost more than 20 hours work in a week, $450 a week for those who have lost 8-20 hours of work, and a $200 a week top-up payment for those on income support who have lost 8 or more hours of work.”
For more information on the Federal Government’s COVID-19 Disaster Payments, visit this link: https://www.servicesaustralia.gov.au/individuals/services/centrelink/covid-19-disaster-payment.
You can apply for these payments after you have lost the required number of work hours. Lismore, Richmond Valley, Ballina and Byron Bay LGA residents can apply now for last week, and all other LGAs (including Clarence Valley, Kyogle, and Coffs Harbour) can apply later in the week after you have lost the required number of work hours.
If you have already submitted a claim and have already been paid for last week, you do not need to submit an additional claim. You’ll get paid automatically each week if the lockdown is longer than seven days. Automatic payments will continue until the end of the lockdown or unless you tell us your situation has changed.
To apply for these payments visit https://my.gov.au or call 180 22 66.
“Business support, administered by the NSW Government, includes one-off payments to help with cashflow, ongoing payments to help maintain employees, and payroll tax deferrals,” Mr Hogan said.
