The Community Building Partnership Program from the NSW Nationals in the state government has delivered more than $333,000 worth of projects across Bombala, Araluen, Shannons Flat, Jindabyne and Queanbeyan.
Nationals Member for Monaro John Barilaro joined Bombala Golf Club to announce $51,630 to assist the volunteer run club to purchase a new lawn mower.
“It is great to join with members from the Bombala Golf Club to announce this funding and I know this grant will make a massive difference,” Mr Barilaro said.
“This funding will enable the club to purchase a new lawn mower which will not only help maintain but enhance the facilities on offer.
“The volunteers do such a wonderful job maintaining this course and this funding will make a huge difference for everyone who spends their time looking after this facility.”
The Community Building Partnership program has helped fund a number of projects in the local region including $26,605 to repaint the Shannons Flat Community Hall and $35,000 to assist with the installation of a new playground and outdoor gym installation for the Araluen Recreation Reserve.
HOME in Queanbeyan received $30,000 for much needed improvements to its premises including the addition of storage units, construction of a storage shed and the replacement of carpet within the building.
Volunteer Marine Rescue NSW will purchase a new vehicle to assist with transporting the rescue vessel and volunteers during emergencies thanks to more than $58,000 in funding.
Mr Barilaro said the program which is now more than a decade old was making a big impact across the Monaro.
“State wide, the Community Building Partnership program has funded more than 16,000 community projects since it commenced in 2009,” Mr Barilaro said.
“In the past three rounds Monaro has received more than $1 million for 39 projects.”
In 2022 there is $400,000 to allocate in each electorate with applications due to open early next year.
