NSW Nationals Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke has urged people to recognise female volunteers in their local communities, with nominations still open for the 2020 Hidden Treasures Honour Roll.
Ms Cooke said the Honour Roll shines a spotlight on the contribution of women in regional New South Wales, who willingly lend their time and skills to make the community a better place.
“Female volunteers keep local organisations running, ensure sport is played on weekends, fight bushfires and so much more,” Ms Cooke said.
“This year, as we battle the ongoing drought, bushfires and now a pandemic, female volunteers have stood even taller. So, this is the perfect opportunity to recognise their invaluable contributions by nominating them for the Hidden Treasures Honour Roll.
“Please, tell us the stories of who is making your community a better place, and how they are doing it, so that we can recognise their tireless efforts.”
