“This was one of the first events I participated in with the NSW Nationals and, while I didn’t realise it at the time, this program really changed the direction of my career and was the catalyst for my passion for politics… My mentorship has opened up so many opportunities for me and in addition to my career, I’ve found a home with the NSW Nationals.”

NSW Nationals Women’s Council is proud to open applications for the Emerging Leaders Mentoring Program for 2022. The program will invite five young women to experience life in the NSW Parliament. A program held in Sydney in September, coupled with an ongoing relationship with their mentor, will allow successful applicants to realise that there are many pathways available to them within the Party, from both a parliamentary and organisational point of view.

All mentees will be invited to attend a day long program at NSW Parliament House where they will tour Parliament House, Government House, observe question time and hear from  a variety of speakers which may include current MPs, former MPs and NSW Nationals executive members. The mentees will also have time the following day with their individual mentor. Following the September program, it will be up to the mentor and mentee to establish a relationship if they so choose.

Travel to Sydney and accommodation for the program will be covered by the NSW Nationals Women’s Council.
