The Coffs Coast will experience a significant economic and sporting boost with the return of the prestigious Australian Women’s Classic-Bonville for a further three years.
Nationals Member for Coffs Harbour and Shadow Minister for Tourism, Gurmesh Singh, said the world’s best female golfers and their fans will call our city home in 2024, 2025, and 2026.
Mr Singh said the Australian Women’s Classic-Bonville will boast $500,000 in prizemoney and showcase both the first-class Bonville course and the spectacular Coffs Coast to a global television audience.
“This much-loved women’s sporting event will help to drive tourism and economic growth across the Coffs Coast and our wider region,” Mr Singh said.
“Golf lovers of all ages will converge on Coffs Harbour to see their favourite players in action, while at the same time staying at our local accommodation houses and visiting our restaurants, pubs, clubs, cafes, shops and local tourist attractions.
“This major coup is exciting news for the Coffs Coast, further cementing our reputation as a destination of first choice for visitors and the elite sports stars they love.”
Coastal & Golf Resorts Group General Manager, Brad Daymond, said: “We are thrilled to continue the tradition of the Australian Women’s Classic-Bonville and to showcase to the world the beauty of Bonville that is enjoyed by thousands of guests who stay and play here annually.”
City of Coffs Harbour General Manager, Natalia Cowley, said: “The Australian Women’s Classic at Bonville not only gives locals the chance to see some of the world’s best female golfers first hand, but it also showcases our beautiful Coffs Coast region to the world.”
