Federal Nationals Member for Page, Kevin Hogan, has attended the official opening of the new state-of-the-art science block at St Mary’s Catholic College, Casino.
Mr Hogan secured a $3.6 million grant for the $5 million project, with the Parish and school community funding the remaining.
The first sod for the project was turned in January, 2021.
“The existing science laboratories were built in the 1960’s and were in urgent need of upgrades so it is fantastic to see the Mercy Centre open with new labs, preparation rooms, general learning and storage,” Mr Hogan said.
“The official blessing took place by Bishop Gregory Homeming. It was wonderful to see the Sisters of Mercy, and Marist Brothers well represented there today.
“Students and teachers thrive when their schools have modern and up-to-date facilities.
“This is a wonderful asset for a great school, in our community.”
