Wes grew up in Uranquinty, just outside of Wagga Wagga, and attended Uranquinty Public School and Mount Austin High School, before completing a degree in Aviation at the University of New South Wales.
After graduating, Wes served in the Australian Army as an officer and pilot, then went on to serve as a pilot at ChildFlight, flying their rescue helicopter, before returning to Wagga Wagga, where he operated a number of small businesses and was active in his local community as a director of the Wagga Wagga Business Chamber and founding the Wagga Wagga Ratepayers’ Community.
Wes was elected to the Legislative Council in 2017 after long-serving member The Hon Duncan Gay retired. He has held roles including Deputy Government Whip and Deputy President and Chair of Committees.
Wes is now the Deputy Opposition Whip in the Legislative Council and Shadow Assistant Minister for Police and Emergency Services.
