The Hon Sam Farraway MLC

Member of the NSW Legislative Council

A Bathurst-based small businessman and long-time NSW Nationals Member, Sam Farraway was selected to fill a vacancy in the Legislative Council after the retirement of the Hon. Niall Blair MLC in 2019.

In December 2021 Sam was appointed Minister for Regional Transport and Roads.

Sam has a long history of working with the community; in business and through volunteering. In addition to his role as Senior Vice Chairman of the NSW Nationals, he spent over 10 years as President of the Bathurst Agricultural, Horticultural & Pastoral Association which runs the Royal Bathurst Show, and was also the young entrepreneur of the year.

Sam is a great community advocate and has shown a commitment to working for the people in his region. With the skills and determination to make a real difference to rural and regional New South Wales, he is committed to continuing the good work of the NSW Nationals in Government.

Sam was the Shadow Minister for Regional Transport and Roads 2023-2024, and resigned to focus more on his community in the Central West.
