Hi, I’m Peta Pinson

I’m a Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Businesswoman and the Mayor of the Port Macquarie Hastings.

I’m not a career politician and until now, I’d never been a member of a political party. I’m a team player and I love my region and want to see it enjoy its fair share of support from the State Government to ensure our area is not left behind.

I’ve recently joined the NSW Nationals and together, with your support, aim to return the seat of Port Macquarie to a Member and Party whose primary focus is on supporting the Regions.

I have served and represented the Port Macquarie area as Mayor for nearly six years from 2017 and I will continue to serve as mayor if elected until 2024 to ensure stability in leadership and to not force a by-election if elected as your new Member of Parliament.

As a region, we know that health, roads and infrastructure, policing and education are very important aspects of delivery by the State Government. We’re also aware that there are a number of shortfalls in the delivery and resourcing of these key areas that adversely affect our area.

As you know, it will be my job as the New Member for Port Macquarie to ensure I put our Electorate’s issues forward and to plug those critical gaps for the benefit of our region and community.

For too long, we’ve waited for positive action on a number of key and local projects of strategic importance and I’m excited to take my intimate understanding and local knowledge of these issues to Macquarie Street, to fiercely advocate for real progress.

Delivery of the promised upgrade to Harrington & Houston Mitchell Drive highway intersections, delivery of the upgrade to Lake Road & Wrights Road bottleneck and stopping the destruction of the Port Macquarie southern breakwall are just some of the key items I’ll be pursuing on your behalf.

My style of leadership is one of service to community, a rigorous pursuit of justice and equality and to ensure I leave things in a much better way than how I found them.

In me, I’m offering our electorate a candidate and with your support, the next Member for Port Macquarie who will bring a fresh approach, untold passion and energy to the role and longer term leadership and political stability for our region.
