The NSW Nationals are adapting to life during social distancing, with the Bathurst Branch holding an online eMeeting via a teleconference on Tuesday evening.
The eMeeting was organised by Bathurst Branch secretary/treasurer Lachlan Sullivan, and members were emailed an invitation to participate.
“We had an excellent response with around 20 attendees,” Mr Sullivan said.
“The eMeeting was excellent, I wanted to ensure members could contribute, stay informed and connected during the COVID-19 pandemic. Branch reports were brief, MP’s were given five minutes each to speak, and we had a 15-minute question-and-answer session at the end.”
The eMeeting was chaired by Bathurst Branch chairman Sam Farraway MLC, who likewise was very pleased with how it went.
“Members participated well, and there was good engagement between members and MPs during the Q&A,” he said.
“I think it was excellent.”
Mr Farraway said since the eMeeting was a success, the Bathurst Branch would be holding monthly eMeetings until the social distancing restrictions were lifted.
Lachlan Sullivan thanked elected members Andrew Gee MP, Federal Member for Calare, Sam Farraway MLC and Paul Toole MP, State Member for Bathurst, for agreeing to participate plus all members who helped pioneered the eMeeting by logging in.
