Massive congratulations to the Narrabri Shire community!
The local Rotary Club has presented its largest ever donation to the McGrath Foundation to support the cost of a local breast care nurse.
The Club, through its Pink Up Namoi initiative, has raised a staggering $106,114.
It is not only the largest amount raised by the Namoi community.
It is the largest amount raised by any community in Australia.
Pink Up Namoi was the brainchild of local Rotarian and breast cancer survivor, Karen Kirkby.
Karen wanted to ensure that women and their families who were going through breast cancer had the support of a McGrath Foundation nurse.
Her goal of raising $25,000 was wildly eclipsed due to the massive support from right across the Narrabri Shire.
McGrath Foundation CEO Tracey Bevan joined the club online to accept the donation and congratulated and thanked Karen, our club and the people of Narrabri Shire for their generous gift.
A truly momentous occasion for the club and for the Shire.
