The Nationals in government will offer real and immediate relief at the bowser by cutting fuel excise in half

Under a Coalition Government, fuel excise would be slashed from 50.8 cents a litre to 25.4 cents a litre for 12 months.

The savings will be immediate.

A motorist whose car has an average-sized 55 litre tank will save around $14 a week.

More than 50 per cent of Australian families have two or more cars, so the savings will be even greater.

Having two cars will save you $28 a week or around $1,500 a year.

Compare this with Labor’s plan that will deliver a paltry $5 a week income tax cut – the equivalent of a cup of coffee – and not until the middle of next year.

Under Labor, we have had 12 interest rises.

Under Labor, power bills have risen by around $1,300.

Mr Albanese and Labor promised 97 times that power bills had come down.

The choice cannot be clearer.

In government we will deliver real and immediate relief now from Labor’s cost-of-living crisis.
