Member for Port Macquarie Leslie Williams has been formally re-endorsed as the NSW Nationals candidate for the 2019 State Election.

The popular MP was unanimously preselected unopposed at a National Party meeting in Port Macquarie on Saturday, September 29.

“I sincerely thank my National Party colleagues for again giving me the opportunity to represent the Party and the constituents of the Port Macquarie electorate in the NSW Parliament,” Mrs Williams said.

“I take my local member responsibilities very seriously and I will continue to give it my undivided attention.

“While I have been able to secure more than $1 billion in State Government funding for the electorate over the past seven and a half years, I know there is still more work to do.

“This was only achieved because I am part of a team of Nationals in Government that is focused on making sure that regional communities reap the benefits of our good economic management.

“We cannot go back to those dark years of Labor that saw no new infrastructure and services in regional areas like ours grind to a halt.

“I am committed to ensuring that the people of the Port Macquarie electorate continue to have the best representation possible in Macquarie Street and that we continue to get our fair share of Government funding which can only be achieved if we are re-elected to Government in March next year.”
