Assistant Adviser
Applications are invited for the above position based in Canberra.
The position would a suit highly motivated person, with electorate or campaign experience and with a background and/or interest in agriculture or rural/regional affairs. Applicants for this position should have a good understanding of government and parliamentary processes and excellent communication (written and oral), research and problem solving skills. This is a great role for someone who is keen to play an “all-rounder” role in a Minister’s office across policy development, parliamentary processes and campaigning.
The position is Canberra based and may require some interstate travel.

The roles include [but is not limited to]:
– Portfolio, non-portfolio and opposition research
– Parliamentary processes and policy support
– Electorate visits support
– Campaign administrative tasks and support
– Liaising with and supporting the EO on electorate matters
– Accompanying the Minister while on Government business; and
– Liaising closely with stakeholders and other Ministerial offices
The applicant should possess:
– Strong interpersonal, communications skills and analytical skills
– Strong organisational skills, and ability to show initiative
– A good level of IT literacy

A salary within the range of $78,300 – $93,918 pa will be determined commensurate with relevant skills and experience. In addition, an allowance of $29,276 is payable.

Senior Media Adviser

The positions would a suit highly motivated person, preferably with several years’ experience in journalism or a related field and with the relevant tertiary qualifications. The position would be based in Canberra or Wodonga and requires regular interstate travel, including travel to Canberra for parliamentary sitting periods for Wodonga based staff.

Diary Manager
Applications are invited for the above position based in Canberra.
The Minister for Rural Health, Sport and Regional Communications, Senator the Hon Bridget Mckenzie is seeking a high performing candidate to join her team as Diary Manager. The position will be based in Canberra and may involve some travel to the Victorian Electorate Office.
Key responsibilities include:
• Managing the Minister’s diary and travel arrangements;
• Coordinating room bookings, answering phone calls and providing other administrative support as needed; and
• Liaising with offices of other Ministers, Senators, MPs and external stakeholders; and
• Secretarial and administrative assistance to the Minister and members of the Ministerial staff
Applicants should possess the following skills:
• An understanding of politics, government and parliamentary processes;
• Excellent written and oral communication skills;
• Well-developed office IT skills;
• Advanced organisational skills and attention to detail;
• The capacity to exercise sound judgement and independently interpret circumstances;
