Hon Paul Toole MP

Minister for Lands and Forestry
Minister for Racing

Member for Bathurst

With the highest two party-preferred swing in NSW history, Paul was elected as the Member for Bathurst in 2011 and is currently serving as the Minister for Lands and Forestry, and Minister for Racing.

Prior to entering state parliament, Paul was a primary school teacher for almost 20 years working in some of the area’s best schools and became a member of the local council in 1995.

As a councillor for Evans Shire, Paul represented the smaller towns and communities around Bathurst for over eight years before becoming Bathurst Regional Council’s first deputy mayor in 2005 and then Mayor in 2007.

Paul was Mayor for four years and under his leadership small towns within the region maintained a strong voice and Bathurst became the fastest growing inland regional city in NSW.

Throughout his time representing the people of the Central West, Paul also served as Parliamentary Secretary to the Deputy Premier for Asia-Pacific Trade between 2011 and 2014 and as Minister for Local Government from 2014 – 2017 and is a great advocate for improving local health facilities, infrastructure, education and crime prevention. He fights proudly to ensure the needs of his electorate are heard.

Paul and his wife, Joanne, have raised their three children Rhayne, Keely and Scout in the electorate and live in the historic town of Kelso.
