As part of the NSW Nationals in the state government’s 16 Regional Cities Services Improvement Program, Nationals Member for Monaro John Barilaro has invited the community across Queanbeyan to have a say on improvements to bus services.
The Services Improvement Program aims to build a stronger public transport network to better meet the demands and needs of people in regional parts of the state.
“This program is all about making public transport more accessible in regional cities like Queanbeyan and we are inviting people to have their say on route 837 from Queanbeyan to Googong,” Mr Barilaro said.
“Transport for NSW delivered 68 new services in Queanbeyan in the last year under the first phase of the program. As our region continues to grow, we want to ensure our local public transport network offers the community more reliable services and better connections.”
Mr Barilaro is encouraging everyone in the community to provide feedback on the current services offered in Queanbeyan. He’s also seeking input on the need for additional services and the extension of the bus route into Googong.
Feedback can be provided by phoning 1800 717 528, emailing RegionalCitiesProgram@transport.nsw.gov.au, or writing to Transport for NSW, 16 Regional Cities Program – Queanbeyan, PO Box K659, HAYMARKET NSW 1240.
Consultation on Route 837 from Queanbeyan to Googong will take place between Monday, November 15 and Friday, December 10.
