NSW Nationals Policy

The NSW Nationals have been in government since 2011 at a state level and 2013 at a federal level. During that time, we have worked hard to deliver a fair go for the people of regional, rural, and remote NSW.

Our policies are based upon traditional Australian values of fairness, equality, and mateship – which are reflected in our We Believe statement – and upon motions presented by grassroots members to our Annual General Conference.

We are proud to be the most democratic grassroots organisation in Australia, and the only one solely dedicated to serving the people of regional, rural, and remote NSW.

Our country

People living and working in regional, rural, and remote areas have a close connection to the land and have an appreciation for the environment and sustainable development. We choose to live outside of the cities because we love our pristine beaches and waterways, our forests and bushland, and great outback spaces.

It is important to enjoy the natural beauty of our land, and ensure it is well-cared for into the future.

The NSW Nationals are committed to sustainability in many forms – well-managed forests, productive agricultural land, river management, alternative energy sources, recycling, and research programs to address land degradation and salinity.
