NSW Nationals Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke is encouraging people interested in building bridges to consider sending an application to Transport for NSW for a role based in Narrandera.

The opportunity to take up an apprenticeship in civil construction has emerged as part of a drive to recruit more than 50 trainees across NSW.

“If you’re keen to learn the skills needed for work in the construction of roads and bridges, then this opportunity for a role with Transport for NSW is absolutely fantastic,” Ms Cooke said. “The successful applicant will be based in Narrandera and will join a structured training program which gains them a nationally recognised qualification. There will be opportunities to travel and work as part of a team helping to deliver the NSW Government’s commitment to improve transport and road connectivity in regional NSW.”

Ms Cooke said that as well as the civil construction apprenticeship in Narrandera, there were other opportunities in business services, line marking, bridge carpentry, heavy-vehicle plant mechanics, and in electrical work across NSW.

Applications are now open and close on Sunday, August 18, 2019. Successful candidates will start their career with Transport for NSW on January 13, 2020.
