Federal Nationals Member for Lyne Dr David Gillespie has been re-endorsed by the Party to contest the next election.

Since being elected in 2013, Dr Gillespie has worked hard for the people of the Mid-North Coast, ensuring their voice is heard in Canberra.

“It’s great to have received my re-endorsement from Lyne Nationals on the weekend to run again,” Dr Gillespie said. “In addition to the wonderful support I have received from our community, I’d like to thank my wife Charlotte and my family for their love and support in helping me dedicate the time and effort to doing this important job.”

“It has been an absolute honour and privilege to be selected to run for The Nationals and to represent the people of our wonderful part of Australia.”

Dr Gillespie said he was proud to be part of a team that had fixed the nation’s finances, significantly boosted investment in the community and economic programs which were helping to generate thousands of jobs across the region.

“Aged care funding had increased from $90 million a year in the electorate when I was first elected to more than $130 million today, providing more services for seniors and creating more than 675 new jobs in the region’s aged care sector,” he said. “Our massive infrastructure investment has seen the total transformation of the Pacific Highway through our electorate to a first class motorway; we have created jobs, fixed blackspots, and helped so many local people with various issues. But there’s still a lot more to do!”
