Our regions will welcome 27 new probationary constables following the attestation parade of Class 333 in Goulburn last month.

The recruits will be scattered across the State with a good number heading to country towns and coastal communities to ensure we continue to have top quality cops on the ground serving our regions.

As part of the NSW Government, the Nationals are committed to boosting the strength of the NSW Police Force. The Class 333 will bring the number of new recruits since 2011 to 4,596 with the total number of employees in the Force now at 16,795.

Minister for Police Troy Grant congratulated all recruits who have attested as Probationary Constables last week.

“Their commitment to the safety and security of the people of NSW is nothing short of extraordinary. Welcome to the Force!”

Of the 234 recruits, Moree Police Station in the New England Police District will welcome four new probationary constables bringing the total number of recruits in the station to 17 in the past 16 months.

Local MP, Adam Marshall welcomed the new recruits to the community and thanked them for their commitment to preventing and disrupting crime.

“I would like to welcome our newest officers to the region and extend our gratitude to them devoting their careers to such an honourable cause,” Adam said.

“I know the qualifications our officers have completed at the Police Academy, together with the on-the-job training they will undertake at the Moree Police Station will ensure they are more than adequately prepared to step into this important role.

“Policing can be an extremely challenging profession and our officers encounter the best and the worst of humanity in the line of duty, so I’m very pleased that our community will benefit from the enthusiasm of these officers starting their career on the beat.”

All recruits are receiving on-the-job training and will continue their distance education before graduating with an Associate Diploma in Policing Practice.
