Nationals MP Mark Coulton will contest the Federal seat of Parkes for the fifth time, after being successfully preselected by the Party on Saturday.

Mr Coulton said he was looking forward to once again contesting the seat after more than a decade in the Federal Parliament.

“I am honoured to have been preselected by the National Party at the weekend,” Mr Coulton said. “I have found it a privilege to represent the interests of the people of the Parkes Electorate, and the diverse communities across nearly half the State.”

For the past 11 years, Mr Coulton’s service as the Member for Parkes has given him a strong foundation and a keen knowledge of the rural and regional communities he represents.

“With many exciting projects in the pipeline, there are wonderful opportunities in this electorate for people, businesses and industry to flourish,” he said. “I endeavour to continue to work hard for my constituents now and into the future.”

The Parkes electorate consists of almost 400,000 square kilometres, covering 18 Local Council Areas as well as the Unincorporated Area of Far West NSW.
