About Katrina

An infectious passion for her community, Katrina Hodgkinson is our Nationals’ candidate for Gilmore.

Katrina brings a wealth of experience, an ability to get things done and great energy to representing country people. She has a reputation as an achiever for the communities she has represented over the past two decades.

Katrina has always put her community first and that’s exactly the passion and experience she will bring to the people of Gilmore.

Katrina brings more than 20 years’ experience to the table, including four years as a Minister in the NSW Government, two years as a Parliamentary Secretary, as well as eight years as a Shadow Minister, in addition to time as an adviser in the Howard Government.

For more than a decade, Katrina owned and operated tourism retail businesses specialising in Australian natural fibres and fine arts in southern regional NSW. Katrina is married to Jack and has two children. 

Having run her own small business, Katrina is passionate about delivering tax cuts and extra help for small businesses to grow, invest and create more local jobs.

She is also proud to have helped deliver Government jobs to parts of the Gilmore electorate through pushing decentralisation as an NSW Minister, as well as improving regional services for farmers through the establishment of Local Land Services.

What has Katrina delivered for Gilmore?

During Katrina’s time as an NSW Government Minister: 

1. Relocated significant Department of Primary Industries – Fisheries jobs out of Sydney to Nowra

2. Bringing an Offshore Artificial Reef to the Shoalhaven

3. Overseeing the installation of new fish cleaning tables throughout the South Coast. 

Katrina’s priorities


Katrina’s priorities for Gilmore include:

  1. Ensuring the proper upgrade of the Princes Highway;
  2. Improved mental health support for all our community, with a strong focus on our youth;
  3. Improved infrastructure for public facilities right across the Gilmore electorate;
  4. Reducing unemployment and creating good local jobs opportunities for our kids so they do not have to leave the South Coast;
  5. Ensuring the NDIS is a success for the local area and benefits users and their families; and
  6. Supporting our defence personnel and those in need.
