The Nationals in Government want the community to help celebrate the role seniors play, during next year’s Seniors Week Festival.

We’re encouraging local councils and community organisations to apply for a 2019 NSW Seniors Festival grant.

Seniors are some of our community’s most active members and the hugely popular Seniors Week activities are just one way to celebrate their contributions.

Long-serving NSW Nationals members are leaders in their communities and we see this as a great way to encourage their peers to get involved as well.

The Grants Program provides $200,000 in seed funding to run local festival events and activities that provide opportunities for people over 60 to remain active, healthy, engaged and contributing to their local communities.

Applications are now open for grants with local councils, volunteer groups and community organisations encouraged to show their appreciation for seniors.

The 2019 NSW Seniors Festival will run from February 13 to 24 and organisations are encouraged to plan events now, with three funding categories available:

  • Category 1: Up to $1,000 for small-scale local community events and activities.
  • Category 2: $1,001 – $5,000 for larger local community events and activities.
  • Category 3: $5,001 – $10,000 for large scale community and regional events and activities.

Applications close at 5pm on Friday, 10 August 2018.
