Regional event organisers can get a slice of the $500,000 funding on offer thanks to the Nationals in Government.

NSW Nationals Member for Dubbo Troy Grant reminded event organisers that applications for round two of the Incubator Event Fund and Flagship Event Fund were still open and were set to close on Saturday, January 13.

“I’m encouraging anyone in the community looking to put on an event in the second half of 2019 to jump online and lodge an application for the $500,000 funding on offer,” Mr Grant said. “The funding is designed to help get first-time events off the ground or assist relatively new events gain the reputation they need to become even bigger and more successful. Our community is already blessed with some of the best events in NSW, but I’m keen to see even more world-class events come to life in our region.”

NSW Nationals Minister for Tourism and Major Events Adam Marshall said the Government was committed to driving more visitation to rural and regional NSW.

“The Nationals in Government are ensuring rural and regional NSW gets a fair slice of the State’s booming tourism sector through initiatives such as these which help draw even more visitors to country NSW,” Mr Marshall said. “We know that when people come to events in rural and regional NSW they in turn inject invaluable cash into our communities and their many cafes, hotels, pubs and shops.”

The Flagship Event Fund offers an annual grant of $20,000 or a triennial grant of $27,500 to support marketing activities.

The Incubator Event Fund offers grants of up to $20,000 to new events to assist with elements such as temporary infrastructure, marketing and promotions, venue hire or attendee research.
