Communities urged to apply for Regional Growth Fund

Apr 11, 2018

The deadline for the Federal Government’s highly anticipated Regional Growth Fund is fast approaching, with interested parties having less than one month to submit their initial applications.

The $272 million fund is dedicated to support major projects in regional, rural and remote communities that will have long term economic benefits, with up to $10 million on the table for successful applicants.

The Regional Growth Fund is a game-changer and with the ability to help transform regional areas with large-scale projects.

The fund is aimed at helping communities get projects worth more than $20 million off the ground and our Federal Parliamentary team, including Member for Cowper, Luke Hartsuyker, are making sure locals know about it.

“For communities like ours, outside the major capital cities, this is a unique opportunity to ‘think big’ on new or expanded projects, with 50 per cent of project funding on offer as part of the Coalition Government’s focus on regional jobs,” Luke said.

“Whether its transport and communications, tourism, manufacturing and primary industries, the Coalition Government will invest a minimum of $10 million toward each successful infrastructure project.

“The Regional Growth Fund will support additional investment for sustainable economic growth, including from the private sector, other levels of government, and not-for-profit organisations.”

By aiding local projects, jobs that will benefit from the funding injection will continue to stay in town rather than head to metropolitan areas for work – boosting our regional centres and keeping people in our towns.

Applications close 5pm AEST on 27 April 2018. For more information on the program, including the application process, visit
