It’s the time of year again for all our under 35s to get together for the Young Nationals Annual General Conference. Policy discussion, debating competitions and guest speakers, along with a list of enviable social events are once again on the agenda.
Every year the NSW Young Nationals hold their conference in a new location within the state. This year, we are holding it in Forster, from Friday 4 to Sunday 6 March.
Since its revival in 2012, Young Nats Conference has been a great success, typically involving policy discussion, our Annual General Meeting with the appointment of new office bearers, the Miriam Hunt debating competition, a variety of inspiring guest speakers and social events. This year will also include a campaign skills workshop in preparation for the upcoming Federal Election.
The Annual Conference Dinner can be attended by both Young Nats and general Nats members who are young at heart.
For Young Nats, the cost of the entire Conference is $125 (or $100 for students and first-timers). This includes the Conference venue, accommodation costs, most meals, most transport and a ticket to the key social function – the Annual Conference Dinner. It is heavily subsidised and those of you who have been before will know that it is great value for money.
What’s the Go with Nominations?
If you are a Young Nat who is interested in attending, we encourage you to contact your local Electorate Council Chairman (both State and Federal) and your local Nationals’ MP. Getting sponsored helps considerably with the financial costs of the conference.
Nominations close on Wednesday 25 February, so we encourage you to act quickly and secure your place at this year’s Young Nationals Conference.
Nomination forms are on the back of the Conference Registration form. If you need help with this, contact Blaise at Head Office on 9299 5811.
How to Get There
If you are Young Nat and you RSVP by 19 February 2016 we will arrange your transport to Forster.
If you wish to book your own flights after 19 February you will only be reimbursed for the cost of the flights at 19 February.
Alternatively, if you wish to drive, you will be reimbursed 20 cents per kilometre.
