Former Deputy Prime Minister Tim Fischer officially launched the autobiography of Jim Small, who was the National Party Member for Murray from 1985 until 1999.

Speaking at the launch in Deniliquin, Tim described the book as “full of surprises”.

“Jim takes the reader from his time as Lance-Corporal James Small right through to his stories of receiving debutantes at 131 balls over the course of a dozen years – which must surely rate in the Guinness Book of Records.”

“But the book also points to Jim’s solid work as National Party Member for Murray, based on his family, education and faith.”

Jim said he was absolutely delighted to complete the work, and that he had many people to thank including his wife Judy and his former secretary Faye Fallahay.

The Small Boy is available from Deniliquin Newsagency and Bookstore, Deniliquin Pastoral Times and the Peppin Heritage Centre, or by phoning Pat on 0408 751 488.
