Regional Tourism funding now open
Member for Lismore, Thomas George, today announced that Local Government, local tourism associations, sector organisations, industry and Regional Tourism Organisations can now apply for the third round of the 2015-2016 Regional Visitor Economy Fund (RVEF) Contestable Fund.
Mr George said the total RVEF funds available for the 2015-2016 financial year total $7.2 million, which is part of the $21.6 million record funding commitment announced by the NSW Government in 2012.
“I am delighted to announce that round three of the RVEF Contestable Fund is now open to receive applications, and I encourage our region to make use of this marketing and product development opportunity,” Mr George.
“This initiative allows eligible tourism businesses and organisations within our local community to showcase the diverse range of products and experiences our fantastic region has to offer.”
“The RVEF provides the regional tourism industry with a sustainable platform to help boost economic growth within their communities and assists projects that contribute to achieving our goal of doubling overnight visitor expenditure to NSW by 2020,” Mr George said.
Further information on the Regional Visitor Economy Fund, including Program Guidelines for the Contestable Fund, Frequently Asked Questions, the RVEF Application Form and the contact details of the Zone Manager who can guide and advise applicants in developing their application, are available at destinationnsw.com.au/rvef.
