Regional NSW is home to some amazing small businesses
Last Friday I launched the NSW Government’s Back to Business Week in Cooma to celebrate the role small businesses play in creating jobs and driving regional economies.
After starting my morning serving coffee to customers at one of my favourite local café’s, The Lotte foodstore, I spent time at Paws for Training and Tag the Trend clothing store. These are three great examples of small businesses thriving in regional NSW.
While governments don’t create jobs, we can create the right environment for small businesses to grow and create new jobs.
The NSW Nationals are focused on making sure we have the right conditions for small businesses to thrive across regional NSW, the heartbeat of this great State.
We have seen 67,000 more jobs created in Regional NSW since April 2015 in 12-month moving average terms.
I encourage everyone to spend some time supporting their local businesses as part of Back to Business Week from the 26th February – 4th March and celebrate the role small businesses play in their communities.
And finally, I would like to tell our people across regional NSW who have lost their homes and been impacted by the terrible bushfires this month that you are in our thoughts, as are the brave men and women of our fire fighting and emergency services who have toiled long and hard to protect and lives and property during this time.
