Regional Jobs Now

The numbers show that regional NSW is outstripping its metropolitan counterpart in terms of jobs growth, and with the announcement of the new Regional Jobs Now program, our new Leader and Minister for Small Business, Skills and Regional Development, John Barilaro, is clearly working to see that trend continue.

For the next four years, a new funding package will be available for regional small business that are hoping to expand and create new jobs.

Nearly 60 million dollars of the Jobs for NSW Fund has been allocated to the Regional Jobs Now initiative to provide diverse financial support for businesses looking to expand. For those looking to grow their business, the selection criteria for the funding is performance based, with an intent to not only create jobs, but also to strengthen export capability, provide new industry clusters and transform regional communities.

The package will provide five different financial products intended to meet the needs of businesses at different stages of their development. Regional businesses that apply will be supported throughout the application process to ensure the assistance provided to businesses is tailored to the needs of that particular business. This approach means that businesses that are ineligible for one product can still be considered, if one of the five products is more suitable.

The program provides long term and sustained investment, which will provide jobs now and well into the future for rural and regional NSW.

Expressions of interest (EOI) are currently open and close on 9 December 2016.
