Putting your town on the map

The savvy tourist is already embracing regional NSW as a favourite getaway destination. But alongside the all-year-round delights of a small country town or area, our towns are also often known for our annual flagship events like the Junee Rhythm ‘n’ Rail, Orange F.O.O.D Week and the Canowindra Balloon Challenge (pictured).

Now is the time for event organisers across rural and regional NSW to apply for grants provided by the NSW Government’s 2017 Flagship Event Fund.

Visitors to regional NSW are already very lucky to receive a jam packed event schedule ranging from food and wine festivals to music, sporting and cultural events and it is hoped that this grant will facilitate an increase in both local and international tourists.

The Fund is a part of the Destination NSW Network and offers more money to regional events than ever before, with a one-off annual grant of $20,000, or a grant of $27,500 per year for three years.

Expressions of interest for the 2017 Flagship Event Fund are open until Sunday 9 October 2016. For further information on the 2017 Flagship Event Fund, or to lodge an expression of interest visit http://www.destinationnsw.com.au/rfep.
