As momentum builds towards the upcoming Federal Election this year, so does the formal process that ensures your NSW Nationals are ready to fight for our regions. This includes Preselections, the process which dictates who will become our Nationals candidates.
We've selected our candidates for the Senate in Senator Fiona Nash and Wes Fang, now the call for nominations in the Divisions of Lyne and Richmond have officially kicked off our preselection process for the House of Representatives.
Central Executive has determined a timetable for the preselection of a candidate to represent The Nationals in the Divisions of Lyne and Richmond at the next federal election:
|Nominations open||9am 5 February 2016|
|Nominations close||5pm 25 February 2016|
|Richmond Preselection meeting||19 March 2016 (location to be advised in the near future)|
|Lyne Preselection meeting||20 March 2016 (location to be advised in the near future)|
You will be eligible to vote in these preselections if you:
- are enrolled to vote in the federal electorates of Lyne or Richmond as they will be constituted for the 2016 federal election;
- have held your membership continuously for six months before the meeting; and
- attend the pre-selection meeting in person.
It is important to note that the boundaries of both the Richmond and Lyne Electorates have changed significantly. These preselections are based on the new boundaries that will apply at the next federal election.
